Never Picture Perfect

I got tagged.  By my mom.  I was hoping to be the first to respond to the tag, but ABE BEAT ME!!!  Rats.  Well, here we go... I'm supposed to share 8 things about me - or my spouse - that most people don't know.

1. I'm very bad at cutting my nails.  I do it often enough, but I always cut them too short and I can't ever get a nice straight cut... always jagged or choppy.

2. When its only me in the house (or apartment, or dorm, or wherever I'm living at the time) I like to turn up the music really loud and dance/jump around like crazy.  Some air guitaring may also be involved.  Oh, and lets not forget that I sing along really loudly too.

3. In the context of swimming: I can't dive.  I can do a front flip.  But I can't dive.

4. I don't like going to bed at night.  I want to squeeze as much out of each day as I can.  This may or may not also stem from a self-discipline problem...

5. I love the outdoors.  One of the ways I worship God best is by being outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of His creation.

6. I read really slowly.  I love to read, don't get me wrong.  I love it a lot.  Its just slow going.  I guess that's cool though, it gives me time to process what's happening and make mental images and all that good stuff.

7. I have an anger issue.  I get angry when anger isn't necessary.  Often very angry.  Mild frustration would certainly be warranted, but I get angry.  It's a problem.  I'm thankful that sanctification is progressive.

8. When I was little, I made myself a cape out of bright yellow fabric with a blue square in the middle (from a folder) that had an 'O' on it and called myself super Olivia.

He Reigns: The Worship Collection

Today at my elementary school we had a writing workshop.  I wrote about my grandparents’ house.  I love that house.  And the more I wrote about that old house and the more we discussed how to spur students on toward better writing, the more I realized how long it’s been since I’d written anything I really enjoyed.  Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve written many papers.  But I didn’t enjoy them.  I’m rarely pleased with the finished product, my heart doesn’t seem to be in them and I always feel like they lack an element of completeness or wholeness.  I’ve begun to convince myself more and more that it’s the result of the required topics.  They demand so much information yet provide such limited opportunities to express the information that no one idea comes across as truly clear.  There is too much that needs to be said.  Or maybe I just have too much to say.  I don’t know.  Nor do I particularly have the time to find out.  At least not right this minute.  Now I have to grade spelling papers, put clothes away, and study for quizzes.  But hey, I don’t have to have all the answers.  At least not right now…

So I'm trying to finish reading Invisible Man.  It may quite possibly kill me.

This isn't really O, it's O's mom - because she let me use her computer and she forgot to log off.   This is my new favorite picture of Olivia with Laura!

The World As Best As I Remember It, Vol. 2

Ok, so I got "tagged" by Sara and I'm now supposed to write about 5 weird habits I have.  Of course the first thought that crossed my mind was... how do I pick just 5?

1. I wash my hands a lot.  Not necessarily a lot in terms of multiple times a day, but more so in terms of duration of the washings that do occur.

2. I smell my clothes before I put them on.

3. I shred everything (that's able to be shredded) before throwing it away.

4. I watch mostly only the Disney Channel.

5. I only wash my hair a couple times a week.  Although I'd say that's more a matter of hair health than weirdness.

Alright, there you have it... 5 arbitrarily chosen weird habits of mine.  If you can come up with more (and I'm sure you can) feel free to share in the comment section.

The last part of this "tagging" game states that I must now choose 5 other people to complete the game as well.  I choose: Meredith, My mom, Aunt Val, Aubrie, and Aubre.

Have fun!
